Teeth Reshaping

Chipped or abnormally shaped tooth? Spacing between teeth?

Composite Bonding can fix minor problems in a few teeth or just one tooth. The procedure can transform the shape, appearance and shade of your teeth – all in the same appointment. Teeth shape is improved by the addition of a tooth coloured composite ‘bonded’ to the natural tooth. The composite is hand sculpted by our dentist to achieve the desired shape in order to create a natural looking tooth. A vast range of shades are available to help match tooth colour.

Worn-out or discoloured teeth? Or crooked teeth?

  1. Composite Veneers can be a good option. A composite resin is sculpted directly onto the tooth, producing beautiful results. The process is very similar to Composite Bonding, however, it’s used when more extensive reshaping of the tooth is required. Composite Veneers are very carefully sculpted and hardened by the dentist – typically in a single appointment. They are less invasive and often more cost effective than Porcelain Veneers.
  2. Porcelain Veneers use a thin, custom-made shell of tooth coloured porcelain material bonded to the front surface of the tooth. They can be a good option in many circumstances – e.g. deep staining or minor teeth misalignment which might be difficult to mask with composites can benefit from Porcelain Veneers. Minor teeth misalignment can also often be fixed with Porcelain Veneers by re-shaping the teeth and making them look perfectly straight — no braces required. Porcelain Veneers usually last longer and are more durable than Composite Veneers.

Looking for a smile makeover?

  1. A combination of Composite Bonding and Composite Veneers can fix chips, gaps and cracks, creating beautiful smile makeovers without damaging underlying structures. Usually 4-6 Composite Veneers are done to the front teeth to produce a beautiful smile makeover. No drills and no big bills.
  2. Porcelain Veneers are traditionally used for full smile makeovers, where all the visible teeth are fitted with Porcelain Veneers in order to give a uniform, balanced tooth smile that extends to the sides of the mouth. Porcelain Veneers give long term results for colour and shape.

Composite Bonding

  1. Composite Bonding involves applying a composite resin to the tooth in order to make it look more aesthetic. The procedure is usually reserved to address situations where minor chips or repairs to the tooth are required. Subtle changes to the length and also shape of the tooth can be achieved.
  2. The procedure does not require drills or needles and is reversible. Results are usually achieved same day.
  3. The procedure is typically used for situations where natural teeth are a little crooked, not as white, cracked or chipped.

Composite Veneers

  1. Composite Veneers cover the complete front surface of a tooth with composite material, enabling for larger changes in tooth shape and form.
  2. Composites Veneers can be made quickly; they can often be made and finished in a few hours. They are relatively less expensive compared to Porcelain Veneers, producing very life-like and beautiful results. A full smile makeover using Composite Veneers can often cost materially less than Porcelain Veneers
  3. Composite Veneers are typically used to whiten a tooth’s shade, make teeth appear straighter and better aligned, increase tooth size and to close gaps between teeth. They are usually used when more extensive work to the tooth is required compared to Composite Bonding.

Porcelain Veneers

  1. Porcelain Veneers use a thin, layered shell of porcelain bonded to the front face of the tooth to change their shape, size, colour and position. The procedure involves preparing the tooth structure and is therefore not reversible. It can take a few appointments and up to 2-3 weeks to complete.
  2. Minor teeth misalignments can be camouflaged using Porcelain Veneers. They can also be help to mask tooth defects, deep stains that could have occurred during tooth development or trauma. Porcelain Veneers can be used to improve shape, appearance and symmetry of your teeth and smile.
  3. Porcelain Veneers usually last longer if looked after well, leaving a beautiful long lasting smile. They look natural and do not stain easily.
