Botox Anti-Wrinkle Injections Cost

Botox anti-wrinkle injections are a popular cosmetic procedure used to treat fine lines and deep wrinkles on all areas of the face. Botox injections have been used to treat millions of people across the world since the 1980’s, revolutionising the industry due to the remarkable results they produce combined with very few risks and little to no recovery time. Botox injections are the world’s most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure.

Botox gel contains a purified protein that helps to prevent fine lines and deep wrinkles from appearing on the skin by relaxing the facial muscles that have contracted. Botox also helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine-lines that have already formed. The gel relaxes the facial muscles, restoring a more youthful look in the process. Over time, Botox injections re-educate facial muscles, enabling you to reduce the frequency of treatment. Facial areas that have not been treated are not affected by the treatment, enabling you to still smile and frown as usual. The only difference being that the skin on the treated areas won’t wrinkle as much as it used to.

Botox injections are perfectly suited for reducing over-active muscle movement and contraction that can cause deep frown lines and wrinkles to appear on the face. Also, Botox treatment can be used to reduce excess perspiration and to help alleviate symptoms of migraine headaches. Botox is commonly used to treat the following conditions typically – forehead lines, Crows feet and frown lines between the eyebrows. Advanced procedures can be used to treat the following conditions as well – Droopy Jowls, Gummy Smile, Dimpled Chin, Peri-Oral Lipstick Lines, Downturned Mouths and Neck Lines & Bands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Botox anti-wrinkle injections right for me?

People choose to have Botox anti-wrinkle injections for many different reasons. A significant majority of our patients use Botox injections to reduce the appearance of frown lines between the eye brows, lines on the forehead and crow’s feet around the eyes; they also have a desire to relax facial muscles over the long-term in order to smoothen facial lines and winkles. Other patients often say to us that Botox injections helps to treat muscle pains, alleviate migraine headache pains, and reduce excessive sweating. If you happen to suffer from any of the above conditions, Botox anti-wrinkle injections is likely to be of benefit to you.

Who should not have Botox anti-wrinkle injections?

Pregnant women or breastfeeding women are best advised to not have Botox treatments. Although Botox treatment is not known to be dangerous, it is best to err on the side of caution and avoid Botox treatment during this time. Botox treatment is also not recommended if you suffer from diseases that involve nerve damage or weak muscles. It is important to let the Botox practitioner know of any family history of such diseases – for example Myasthenia Gravis. You should also let the practitioner know if you have previously had Bell’s Palsy. If you are undergoing treatment with spectinomycin or amino glycoside antibiotics you should wait till the treatment is over. You should also avoid Botox treatment if you have had a reaction to human albumin.

Will I get the frozen face look with Botox anti-wrinkle treatment?

Botox anti-wrinkle treatment helps to reduce muscle movement on the face, not prevent it. The frozen face look we often seen on TV is a result of overly large quantities of Botox for treatment. Our medical practitioners are highly experienced and will administer only a small amount of Botox gel, just enough to treat you, providing you a natural youthful look.

How often do I need to have Botox anti-wrinkle injections?

Botox anti-wrinkle treatment should initially be had 3 to 4 months apart to ensure best long-term results. This will eventually lead to treatment 6 to 12 months apart as the muscles relax and get re-educated. We will do reviews of the Botox treatment we have administered at no extra charge.

What are the side effects of Botox anti-wrinkle treatment?

Botox anti-wrinkle treatment rarely has side effects. It is one of the safest procedures currently available on the market. There is a possibility however that inadequate technique while administering the injections can result in the gel not being injected correctly. There is also the possibility of dispersing the Botox gels potentially by inadvertently massaging the area, leading to temporary weakness. This is why it is vitally important to undertake Botox treatment from a clinic that is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Once Botox treatment starts to work, you may notice a strange ‘sensation’ around the treated areas. The sensation is temporary and is caused by muscles that haven’t been treated adjusting to the treated muscles. Some patients can experience mild tenderness, redness, bruising or swelling after Botox has been administered. Symptoms are typically short-lived, lasting only a few days.

Will I have any downtime following Botox injections?

Botox injections usually take 30-40 minutes to administer. There is little to no downtime at all, allowing you to resume your regular day to day activities immediately after treatment. We advise our patients to avoid hot baths and exercise immediately after Botox treatment to prevent sweating out the Botox gel. Patients should also avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for 24 hours post treatment. While there is no down-time associated with Botox treatment, results are not typically immediate. It can take up to five days for results to be fully visible.

How much do Botox anti-wrinkle Injections cost?

Botox anti-wrinkle treatments can be had from a number of providers. Many beauty salons provide Botox treatment as do many medical practitioners such as doctors and dentists. The cost of Botox treatment is usually down to quality of the gels and the experience and qualifications of the Botox practitioner. We advise everyone to thoroughly research the market to find the right Botox provider. Practitioners with medical qualifications such as doctors and dentists are typically more sought after as they have better knowledge of the underlying organisation of the skin and biology. As a result, Botox treatments in reputable providers start from £200 onwards typically; the cost often depends on the nature of the treatment required and the number of areas that need treatment.
