Smile Makeover

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is a cosmetic dentistry procedure where the cosmetic dentist applies a tooth-coloured composite material to the teeth to repair damage or make cosmetic changes to its appearance. The composite resin is applied to the tooth and shaped to restore or change its original appearance. The colour of the resin can be exactly matched to the teeth, so will appears like it is part of the natural tooth. It’s a cost-effective option as it’s significantly less expensive compared to other cosmetic dental procedures such as veneers and crowns. Composite bonding is usually used to fix chips or fractures to the tooth, gaps between teeth or to fix tooth discolouration.

Porcelain Dental Veneers

A Porcelain Veneer (also referred to as a porcelain laminate sometimes) is a  custom made porcelain shell of thin tooth coloured material that’s applied to cover the front surface of the tooth to improve the appearance of the tooth, thus providing the patient with an pleasing aesthetic smile. Porcelain veneers are very popular in cosmetic dentistry as they are very versatile and can be used to fix a vast range of cosmetic issues – for example, they are often used to close gaps between the teeth, align protruding or crowded teeth, change the size and shape of teeth and also whiten discoloured teeth.

Porcelain Veneers are a very popular option for both patients and dentists; they have been used in millions of smile makeovers to improve the appearance of teeth around the world. Porcelain veneers can be made to exactly match the shade of the surrounding teeth and provide very natural looking, long lasting results. They are also resistant to staining.

Composite Dental Veneers

Composite Veneers are very similar to porcelain veneer; the main difference however is that a composite veneer is built from a composite material instead of a thin porcelain shell as is the case with porcelain veneers. The composite material is sculpted carefully by the cosmetic dentist onto the surface of the tooth and then hardened to create the desired shape and size for the tooth. The composite resin material is a little like paste that is applied to the surface of the teeth and then sculpted like it was putty.  Once the desired shape has been created, the composite resin material is then hardened using a special type of light and polished. Composite veneers can be matched exactly to the shade of your surrounding teeth, providing for beautiful natural looking results.

Composite Veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry procedure; they are commonly used to fix a range of cosmetic issues – for example, they are often used to whiten discoloured teeth, correct minor teeth misalignments and also fix teeth that are worn out. They can also be used to make large changes to the shape and size of the teeth. Composite veneers can often be a good cosmetic alternative to porcelain veneers. As with porcelain veneers, composite veneers can also be applied to as many teeth as required. Composite veneers can create full smile makeover at a much smaller price as compared to porcelain veneers typically. Composite veneers are also less invasive as compared to porcelain veneers; they do less damage to the underlying tooth as compared to porcelain veneers. They create beautiful, natural looking smile makeovers.

Achieving a Straight Smile

Straight teeth is a key part of having a beautiful smile. A smile makeover wouldn’t be complete without straight teeth. Teeth straightening can be performed in a number of different ways – a good cosmetic dentist can use procedures such as composite bonding and veneers to fix minor teeth misalignment issues. For moderate to complex cases, where teeth are crooked, crowded, protruding or misaligned, orthodontic treatments are often required. The most popular teeth straightening treatment amongst adults at the moment (arguably) are invisible braces from Invisalign. The braces are virtually invisible and can help straighten teeth discreetly, without impacting a patient’s lifestyle. Please visit our Invisalign homepage for further details.
