It’s about more than looks - straighter teeth improve health, comfort, and confidence.

Dental Braces London - Dr Edina having a consultation with a braces patient at our clinic in London Waterloo

Straight teeth don’t just look good – they make daily life easier. Aligning your teeth can:

  • Boost confidence in your smile
  • Make teeth easier to clean, improving long-term oral health
  • Reduce uneven wear and jaw pressure
  • Improve speech and chewing comfort

We regularly treat patients with crooked, crowded, or gappy teeth, as well as bite problems such as overbite, underbite, and crossbite.

Invisalign Clear Aligners

Photo of Invisalign braces

Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners that gradually move your teeth into their ideal position. They’re virtually invisible, removable, and ideal for mild to moderate cases.

Metal Braces

Modern metal braces are smaller, smoother, and more comfortable than ever. They’re highly effective for complex realignments, severe crowding, or bite corrections — and remain the most cost-effective option.

Metal Braces London

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces move teeth just as reliably as metal, but with clear or tooth-coloured brackets that blend with your smile. A discreet option popular with adults and professionals.

Ceramic Braces London

Damon Braces

Damon braces use self-ligating technology for faster, more comfortable treatment with fewer adjustments. Clear bracket options are available for added discretion.

Fixed Braces

Fixed braces before and after results

Fixed braces remain the gold standard in orthodontics, offering predictable results for everything from mild crowding to complex bite issues. Options include metal, ceramic, and Damon systems.

Fixed Braces London

Clear Braces

Invisalign Clear Braces London

Clear braces use transparent or tooth-coloured brackets, combining the strength of fixed braces with a discreet, subtle look. A strong choice for adults seeking low-visibility treatment.

Removable Braces

Removable braces are often used for minor corrections or early treatment in children. Easy to take out for cleaning and eating, they can gently guide teeth or form part of a staged plan.

Teeth Straightening for Adults vs Children

Children’s Braces

Children Braces

The teenage years are the ideal time for straightening – the jaw is still growing and teeth respond quickly to treatment.

We offer early assessments from age 7 to spot issues like crowding or bite problems early. Treatment options include traditional metal braces, removable appliances, and discreet ceramic systems for older teens – all delivered with a gentle, supportive approach.

Adult Braces

Braces In London - Adult Braces

Not every adult needs comprehensive orthodontics. If your main concern is the front teeth that show when you smile, fast-track systems like Six Month Smiles can be an excellent solution.

These braces use clear brackets and wires to blend in discreetly while focusing only on cosmetic alignment. Most patients complete treatment in under 9 months, making it ideal if you want quicker results for a special event, wedding, or confidence boost.

Keeping Your Results – Retainers

Finishing teeth straightening treatment is an exciting milestone – but keeping your new smile in place is just as important. Teeth naturally have a tendency to shift back over time, which is why retainers are included in every treatment plan.

  • Removable retainers – clear, custom trays usually worn at night to keep your teeth in line.
  • Fixed retainers – thin wires placed discreetly behind your front teeth for long-term support.

Your orthodontist will recommend the right option for your case and explain exactly how long to wear them. With proper retention, your results can last a lifetime.

How Long Does Teeth Straightening Take?

Treatment times vary depending on your case:

  • Mild or cosmetic straightening: 4–8 months
  • Moderate to complex realignment: 12–24 months

Fast-track systems like Invisalign Express can deliver visible results in as little as a few months, while full orthodontic correction takes longer but provides the most comprehensive results.
